About Our Film

“Camp Triumph, Our Triumph” was shot on the beautiful Prince Edward Island, this 25 minute film depicts the struggles that families affected by chronic illness and disability deal with every day. More specifically how an illness in one can effect the whole. In this film we get to meet three brothers whose mother has to spend much of her time in hospital away from her boys. This is mirrored by the Sheriko’s own situation, which is hauntingly similar. We also get to meet Vanessa who talks about living with a brother with autism, and how hard it has been growing up with the pressures of being a big sister trying to look out for her special needs little brother. Thirdly we get to see what Camp Triumph is all about, how the volunteers are working on giving those children with these extra emotional burdens a chance to just be kids for a while. These story’s and accounts are both touching and insightful. You’ll either leave your seat with a new perspective on these families or the knowledge that you are not alone in your struggles."
