Spend the summer in beautiful PEI as the Cook/Kitchen Manager of a unique summer camp. You would oversee assistants, plan and execute a diverse menu.

Timeline Two to Three month contract (June - August) exact start date to be discussed Accommodations and meals are provided in addition to pay. Pay: $1550 - $1650 (bi-weekly)

The Role During Camp Sessions In consultation with the Directors, the cook/kitchen manager is responsible for adjustments to the Camp Triumph menu (summer camp), ordering all necessary food and kitchen supplies, and overseeing the daily operation of the kitchen during all camp sessions (i.e. making sure meals are cooked and delivered on time). They will be informed of and make the necessary accommodations for dietary requirements and food allergies. They will ensure the camp is following all regulations for food safety as set out by the Department of Environmental Health. They will oversee all of the kitchen volunteers and direct them as appropriate.

The Role Prior to Camp Sessions These duties include: coordinating the planning of meals and food delivery/ procurement, setting up kitchen and food service area, coordinating schedule of volunteers help, preparing meals ahead, among other duties as required.

Qualifications Experience with planning and ordering food, and running/managing a kitchen is strongly preferred. Qualifications or equivalent experience in culinary arts and food safety are required. Experience with summer camps (or camp-like setting) is an asset. If you feel that your experience and abilities would fit the job of cooking for a summer camp, feel free to inquire via email.

What is Camp Triumph? Camp Triumph is a registered charity that provides a unique and unforgettable camp program to children who have a family member with a serious illness or disability. Children, aged 7-16, congregate in this wonderful haven where they take a break from the challenging lives they face at such young ages. We provide therapy through FUN. Our campers take part in a balanced program that includes, physical activity, healthy eating, creative arts, developing coping strategies, self-esteem boosting, relationship building, and relaxation.
